ESP USA uses its unique and proprietary processes to remove the non-diamond phase in the PDC. This process is called leaching.

We are able to be more effective in removing most of the catalytic material from the polycrystalline diamond. We categorize this as the "cleanliness" of the cutters after leaching.

The picture below shows that ESP USA's leaching process on the left side has fewer bright shiney white spots.  This indicates that most of the catalytic material has been leached out of the PDC layer.  The picture on the right side has significantly more white spots.  This indicates that there is more residual catalytic material remaining in the PDC microstructure.
